Luna Guest Assistant ("Luna", "the app", "we") is developed by Vector Minds. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when you use the Luna Guest Assistant app and this website.

1. What Luna Does

Luna is a voice-activated AI concierge designed to be installed on an Android device inside a vacation rental or B&B. It greets guests, listens to their questions, and responds using information provided by the property host.

2. Data Processed by the App

2.1 Microphone — Voice Input

Luna activates the microphone to capture guest speech. The audio is processed by Google Speech-to-Text (Android's built-in speech recognition service) to convert voice to text. Audio is sent to Google's servers for transcription and is not stored by Luna or Vector Minds.

2.2 Camera — Motion Detection

Luna uses the device's front camera exclusively for motion detection — to detect when a guest approaches the device and wake the assistant. Camera frames are processed locally on the device in real time. No images or video are recorded, stored, or transmitted.

2.3 Text Sent to AI Service

The transcribed text of guest questions is sent to Groq (api.groq.com) to generate responses. Groq processes the text according to their privacy policy: groq.com/privacy-policy

Luna does not transmit any personally identifiable information to Groq — only the guest's spoken question as plain text.

2.4 Property Knowledge Base

Property information (house rules, Wi-Fi details, check-in/out times, local recommendations, etc.) is entered by the property host and stored locally on the device using Android DataStore. This information is never transmitted to Vector Minds or any third party.

This website is hosted on Netlify. When you submit the order form, the information you provide (name, email, address, property document) is received by Netlify and forwarded to Vector Minds by email. We use this information solely to process your order and configure your Luna device.

We do not use cookies on this website beyond what Netlify sets for form handling.

4. Children's Privacy

Luna is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

5. Data Retention

Order information received via the website form is retained only as long as necessary to fulfil the order. App data (knowledge base, settings) is stored locally on the device and deleted when the app data is cleared.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)
